Case study 06 · Emily Nelson Design House website, Sussex
Emily Nelson.
A painter whose work does all the talking. So we built a website that knows when to stay quiet: one painting, full screen, and a name.

Oils, interiors, one studio.
Emily Nelson is an impressionist-realist painter. Born in Brighton and trained at Central Saint Martins, she now lives and works in a village just north of Brighton, painting portraits, landscapes and still life, mostly in oils, with a rich, atmospheric palette.
Emily Nelson Design House brings it all together: original paintings, prints and commissions for private clients, interior designers and brands, alongside interior design shaped by years as a designer and creative director on projects across London and the South East.

Paintings this atmospheric don’t need a loud website. They need space. A site that feels like walking into a quiet gallery, with commissions, interiors and wholesale easy to find, but never in the way of the work.
The paintings set the mood, so the website takes its palette, pace and type from them.

Six moves.one project, zero templates
One painting, full screen
The homepage is a single landscape painting, edge to edge, with just the name and “The art of living beautifully” on top. Nothing else competing for attention.
A gallery that breathes
Each painting gets the full width of the page, with its title and medium underneath, like a label on a gallery wall.
A light touch
Elegant serif type, generous spacing and a simple “E.” monogram, so the paintings always come first.
Commissions made clear
A commissions page that explains how it works and gives guide prices by canvas size, so collectors know where they stand before they get in touch.
Every side of the studio
Separate pages for interior design and wholesale, so homeowners, interior designers, shops and galleries each find what they need.
Easy to get in touch
An enquiry form, the studio email and Instagram on every page, plus a sign-up for studio news.
Your work deserves a gallery.
Let’s build a website that gives it room to breathe.
